District Implementation Guide for Section 504 (PDF Download) (Latest version, 2011) — This document is a revision of The District Guide for Meeting the Needs of Students, published by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) in 2005. It is written to assist school district personnel responsible for the education of students with disabilities and is designed to provide an overview of the requirements and benefits of Section 504. It is intended to be a resource for school district personnel in complying with the federal and state laws and regulations focusing on the education of students with disabilities. It does not replace the legal advice of a school board attorney when questions arise as to the application of Section 504 and other disability laws with respect to a particular student or situation.
